Useful Ideas For Those Who Play D&D or Similar Games

After having spent a reasonable amount of time engaged in the Dungeons & Dragons-based board game Hero Quest, it has come to my attention that not everyone knows how to play and keep the game fun. While it’s true that the Dungeon/Game Master controls the vast majority of the gameplay, each player has a strong influence over the nuances and general atmosphere, which can make the game more or less fun for everyone else in as little as ten seconds.

So with that in mind, I have a few ideas to share with the gaming crew; and hopefully what I say not only will help the gamer to have more consistent fun, but will allow the gamer not to drag the game down for his friends.

These ideas fall into three categories: Play the Character, Play the Party, and Follow the DM.
