The Mad House pedegg

The alarm rang on and all hell was breaking loose. I wanted to join in. But I fought myself and stayed hidden. Did Bill unlock the cells? Jon? Were the inmates this insane?
The alarm rang on and on and on. My heart thudded with intensity. I crouched behind the bags in the darkness. I sat. The voices whispered with hushed intensity as they grew more angry. Who’s whispering? The door shuddered and the light under the door was blocked off.

The alarm stopped. The whispers stopped. But the inmates murdered each other. Their cries echoed through the halls. I had to get out. I had to escape the prison. I got up and opened the door. The door opened by itself after I turned the handle. A body pushed the door back and fell down before my feet. The prisoner’s face was covered in blood.
His jaw was broken along with some of his ribs.

The lights were flickering and glass covered the floor. Blood was splattered on the wall and bodies filled the halls. Make-shift weapons were strewn about. I decided to pick up a lead pipe. How did the prisoners get away with this?

Sure I had a gun, but if a gunshot goes off, then they’ll find me. My heart was pumping out of my chest. I flinched at every movement. To the flickering lights to the flies that flew across the corpses. Then I heard a voice.

“Mommy? Where are you? I can’t find you. I love you mommy. Come back. Why did you leave me? Come back mommy! COME BACK MOMMY! I WANT TO SEE YOU!”

I hugged the wall and peeked around the corner. The prisoner was soaked in blood. He held a wrench and stood over a corpse that had been brutalized. His head snapped towards my direction. Shit.

“MOM?”

His footsteps got closer and louder. He was running.

“MOMMY! IS THAT YOU!?”

My heart could be heard from a mile away. The prisoner appeared turned the corner.
He saw me. He walked towards me. I stepped back from him as he proceeded towards me.

“You're not my mommy!” said the bloodied prisoner.

“N-no-no I’m not your mommy.” I stumbled on a person.

“Where is she,”he asked,”What did you do to her!”

He broke into a sprint. He lifted his wrench and cried out. I swung my pipe into his stomach. The prisoner staggered back then charged again. He hit me in the leg and I fell back. He lifted his wrench. I kicked him back and got up as he recovered. I ducked as he cleaved the air above me. I hit him in the stomach, and as he doubled over, bashed him in the skull. He fell down like a bag of bricks and blood slid down his bald, bloodied head.

I breathed heavily and wiped my mouth from the blood that spackled onto my chin.
How could I make it out with hundreds more of these insane inmates? I would. I had to. I had to see Jen. I had to see Bill,Jon and everyone else on the crew. I kept walking quietly. The halls were getting nastier. More blood and more bodies in more gruesome condition as before. I didn’t want to look. I knew I would get nauseous. Then screaming got nearer and nearer. I looked around the corner.

Four inmates were battling it out. One had a sharp arm rest from a plastic chair. One had a hammer and the other two were armed with metal pipes. I stayed hidden and watched. A prisoner struck with a pipe but the other prisoner smacked him in the jaw with his hammer. The prisoner’s jaw was now broken, but he kept fighting like a rabid animal. The prisoner swung his hammer again and crushed his temple. The prisoner fell to the side, dead.

The prisoner with the hammer’s victory was short lived, because a metal pipe crushed his nose into his brain. The prisoner with the arm rest then dove onto the last prisoner and slashed open his throat. The winner of the battle then started chanting and continued to saw into his neck.

My stomach churned and I thought my lunch was gone. This maniac had to die. His back was facing me and I didn’t want to encounter him again. I crept up behind him and with a grunt, fractured his skull with the pipe in my hand. The inmate fell to the side, revealing a slightly severed head.

I threw up. It was too much. What was worse is the smell of half-digested fast food on dead bodies. I stumbled backwards, and fell into the wall behind me. I slid down to the floor and cried. But then I heard something. A group of people headed my way. There were no places to hide. I did the last thing you would ever do. I scooped up blood from the surrounding puddles and wiped it on my uniform and face. I then put my gun under a prisoner close by. I then dug under the corpses and stayed completely still.

The footsteps were numerous. Then a voice.

“Is that a guard?”
