This celebratory Canada Day comic features unlicensed likenesses of some Canadian webcomic celebrities, but I will link to their webcomics so I hope they do not feel too bad about it.
Ryan North is basically my hero. He created so much awesome stuff! OhNoRobot, Project Wonderful, RSSpect, and of course Dinosaur Comics are all creations of Mr. North. I probably should have had him say something other than lipogram, but he did a comic about them the other day, so they were on my mind.
Kate Beaton is also great. She does these brilliant historical comics that I would recommend to all Hetalia fans, and her art is really fun just to look at. I tried to imitate her style for that one panel but it really did not work. I'm sorry, Kate Beaton.
Steve Notley does Bob the Angry Flower, which is much funnier and better-drawn than any parody I can make. Holy crap, the cross-hatching. I do wish I could say that the flower petals are just an artistic device (like the weird leaflike hands) to identify Notley with his comic, but I think he's made convention appearances wearing them, go fig.
Mainly, this comic is a salute to the brave young men and women of the Canadian webcomics industry, and a reflection of the unfairly little amount of respect they seem to get. Overcome, Canadian webcomicers! You are awesome!
