Dark Hair Stranger
Character created by Shattering Skies at GaiaOnline
Sign Says: At Worlds End We Protect You to the Fullest
About: Here is another comission I did on Gaia...it actually took me a while to get this done with school and all. And lately for some reason I havent really felt the motivation to color, it's very time consumming, ha ha ha ha.
Character: She is not an avatar or anything but more of an Original Character that she wanted me to draw chibi for her. I really enjoy drawing OC's alot better than avatars. I dont really see the point in drawing avi's on Gaia I mean, they are always changing and what not. But anyways, more about this girl. Well...to be honest I dont know her name. I dont remember if she told me it already or what but, ack! Now I feel horrible, ha ha ha. just click here to see the refrence.
Background: Well the background wasnt really my idea of the whole picture, well it is true that I created it but it probably wasnt the theme I would have personally chosen. But she wanted me to give her the end of the world sort of theme and have her higher above stuff. It was pretty fun to sketch out and very fun to color. Expect for the fire, I hate coloring fire, but I'll get more into that later.
Why do the buildings have faces? I was trying to go for a child like fantasy thing...horror child like fantasy expression thing. I wanted to imput the feelings and emotions of what some of the existing people were feeling during the time of disaster. It is impicted in the buildings because well, that's where people live and work.
Crows were a priority to this piece. She wanted them to be there and so I fit them in. Surrounding her as her last friends. I suppose, or something like that. Always when I draw animals in images I feel they represent someone close to you but that's just me. Like these four birds, well, I have four family members so that's probably why I chose to draw four.
Colors: I could have gone two ways with this piece. One was I could have made it greys and whites and empty and two was to make it red and blacks and demonic. A strong part of me wanted to go for the lighter theme of white and emptyness but it just came out as being more lifelike and in the moment. I wanted to capture what the emotion was at the time of the happening.
As for the fire, ugh! I dont like how it turned out. I really dont. Everytime I try to draw or color fire it looks more like an object than a light.
Materials: I used crayola colored pencils, copics, and pens. I loved working with crayola colored pencils! They work so smoothly and easily blend, i think I am going to leave behind all my other pencils for them! No...not really because they dont have all the colors I use to combine.
Ack! I wrote to much! Heavens!
Thankyou all for stopping by! Please leave a hug and Comment!
