I glanced around our new surroundings with little interest. After that, I really didn't care anymore.
This was just another place we'd have to save. If we could. How many more failures would we have under our belts in the next few weeks?
And besides this wasn't home. Would we ever get back there? When would we stop traveling from uncaring world to world, util we made it back? In years? What if it was completely different?
"Hey," Jeran whispered. I turned around but didn't meet his eyes. "It's okay."
I sat down and hugged my knees. "It's not okay..." I rested my forehead on my knees and squeezed my eyes shut. I heared Jeran plop down besides me.
"We have to keep going."
"Stop bothering me," I mumbled, looking up to glare at him. "Leave me alone. Just... let me think."
There was silence and Jeran looked up at the sky of this new foreign world.
"You know... We're going to be stuck together with each other for a while. I think we should work out some stuff." He finally siad. I was only half listening.
I put a knee down and stretched, feeling my sore muscles loosen. I didn't notice but when I finished stretching I put my hand down on top of Jeran's.
I blushed and Jeran suddenly leaned closer. It made me feel better, some of the void was filled.
I let a small smile adorn my face as I too looked up to view the new sky, suddenly much friendlier.
A little rough excerpt from a later chapter of Guardians. Alot of the plot stuff got taken out though ;)
<3 Thanks for your support everyone. I plan on having chapter two and three up by the end of the week ^^
