Festival

... I want that skirt. XD; now I know how an artist feels when they've designed a fan-freakin'-tastic outfit for a character.

Anyway, I started this pic in choir while those who still needed to take their note name and key signature quizzes (it's one of those "we keep trying every Friday until we get 100 on both), since I had aced both already. Finished it the next day while waiting for my audition time for regionals. One of my only fond memories from regionals, considering my audition results, especially for sight-singing. *cringe*

As for the title, it's derived from the partial inspiration for this piece. That part is one of the songs we'll be singing at our concert Tuesday, Resonet (to this day I think of Soul Eater every time we rehearse that though. XD). In the song, the opening English lines (after repeating "resonet laudibus" a couple of times) were as follows: "Let bells be rung and voices sing on this festive day. Resound in song both clear and strong, let the music play." (lyrics and arrangement (c) the composers of the piece)

The second inspiration, that had a much larger effect... a few days before this there was a kid down the hall playing on his guitar - some of the tunes sounded like what would be associated with gypsy dances (think the Requiem from the funeral scene in Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shambala, but without the depressing quality to it). Inspiration number three: I just felt like drawing a gypsy. XD
