And it's time for my yearly gift to you all, the Christmas fanart! This year is Shinji and Simon, Studio Gainax's mecha anime bookends. There's been plenty of official art of the various Gainax Girls in Santa outfits, but so far, there's been a very definite lack of Santa Shinji. So here we go! Here's my revenge for thirteen years of Asuka and Rei fanservice without any Shinji in sight, and here's hoping there will be equal-opportunity fanservice in the years to come. I'm a complete Hetalia-tard (I got the collected volume for Christmas, even), so Shinji ended up looking a little like Latvia. Subconscious association? Simon came out looking a little more like the actual character, so yeah. I think Shinji was hard to draw because Sadamoto and I have totally different ways of drawing the eyes...
I didn't colour it because I am a lazy lazy bum and just want to go read now. Canterbury Tales! Woot!
