Well this goes back to a "scary" story that my babysitter used to tell me. Briefly, it was about a girl who wore a green ribbon around her neck her whole life. Everyone kept asking her to take it off. Finally, on her deathbed, she did and her head fell off. 
. yup that's that story in a nutshell.
