This is just a rumor but Disney is thinking of adapting one of those Korean/Japanese/Taiwanese teen dramas/movies into its Disney Channel canon.

So what better way for Disney to add another few millions into the next fiscal year by putting three of their money-spinning employees into Death Note? So the word Death is inside but if Disney can make the Pirates movie and replace Touchstone Pictures with its own logo for the Nightmare Before Christmas, i don't see any problem. Or, they can always put this into ABC or Miramax.

Anyway, the studio that is developing the Western version is Vertigo Entertainment. They are the ones who produce the Ring, the Grudge, Shutter, the Eye, etc remakes. Universal is distributing it. Rumored director Bryan Bertino (the Strangers). Screen play by Vlas and Charles Parlapanides (Undercover). Release Date: 2010. So..ummm...harass them)
