Title: A Summer Place

The Story:
What better way to celebrate the beginning of the Fall season then with a summer themed drawing? It’s nothing really that special, not really much of a story with this one either, just Love Hina’s Shinobu, Sara, and Su at the beach. (The time period is after Keitaro and Naru’s wedding by the way.)

My Take:
Well, it was started during the middle of summer, but thanks to Fay ruining it, me having to start over again, and that big project at work, it wasn’t finished until now. I needed something, to break out of that string of DragonBall drawings that have come up lately…as well as a little warm up for that request that I need to get done.

What I Like Most:
I did like the title, it didn’t come to me until I started writing these comments. It may share the title of an old “beach” movie, but not the story behind it.

What I Dislike Most:
I’m not quite sure where to begin here, I can think of a number of things not to like here…from Sara’s oddly shaped head, Shinobu’s weird shaped hips, the days it took fighting with the water, and the watermelon that looks like a fusion of a beach ball and a football. With all these complaints why even post it at all? I guess because I spent over a month working on this one.

Final Thoughts:
Because I demand perfection from myself, I’ve gotten really critical of these finished projects of mine. With that said, I’m still disappointed with this one. Maybe I could have done more with the background, added some sand or trees or something. A lot of these backgrounds I’ve done lately seem a little too plain.

For those of you that are new to my drawings, I use a different style than you are used to. I have nothing against the original style, but I’m not going to try to be someone that I’m not. I want to have a style of my own.
