I started out doodling a ghost.
Then I got to thinking... about ghosts and about who they haunt.
Maybe they protect instead of haunt. Maybe they follow around the people they care about and protect them from the malevolent spirits out to do humans harm.
This is Brielle. She's a benevolent spirit that locked on to a target the moment she was "born" into her ghostworld; overlapping the human world in such a way that she could exist on the Earth's plane but no one was aware of her. Unlike most ghosts, she can not be heard nor felt no matter how hard she might try. She latched onto a human boy and guards him. Unable to speak to him or let him know she's with him, she simply accompanies him wherever he goes, warding off harmful forces.

I can't even imagine being in love with someone who isn't physically capable of knowing you exist; not just ignoring you but to be unable to hear you, to see you, to feel you. I don't know. I felt obligated to tell her story. Whatever.
