When I think of New York, one of the first things I think of is Broadway. (I can't help but sing "NYC" from Annie! ;) ) I was active in musicals in high school and love the magic of theater. I think some of the magic seen on stage can be experienced in a similar manner in anime. And with Masquerades and such, anime conventions are sort of like Broadway in themselves! So, I felt there was a decent connection between the two.
