This is the original Metropolis; it was a German silent film done in black and white by Fritz Lang back in the 1920s and only about a third of the film actually survives today. The anime film Metropolis is loosely based off it. Featured are the hero and heroine Freder and Maria, with the evil robot and a cityscape outline in the background (this is why I can't draw mecha.) I used crayon for the background, ink for the robot, and colored pencil for the humans (Maria's eyes in the film really do look that big due to judicious use of eye makeup.) The movie is really awesome, though a little hard to find sometimes, but the concept was pretty far ahead of its time and worth checking out. And I hope you like the picture.
