I think the eye shines helped a bit to make her look more hopeful than sad. I was trying to make her look hopeful when I set out. The words are lyrics from Chronic Future's "Apology for Non-Symmetry". I drew this shortly after Lukas died, and when I'm sad, all ma girls look sad. Her hoodie says "DEDEND". There was more shading and skin tone stuff, but I accidentally deleted that layer.
