This is a sample work of a new artform I just took up this year, wood burning. this particular image is from a screencap of Haku from Spirited Away in one of my favorite scenes from the movie. I did have to augment the image a little for the sake of the burning iron. In all it took me about six hours to do the piece, it's burned wood (I think the wood is Poplar, I'm not sure), and it's been clear-coated (the white smudges on the black frame are from the paper towel sticking to it while it dried) to protect the lighter burned areas.
