They are like watercolors, yeah. It's just that once they dry, you can't wet them over again like watercolors and blend them some more on whatever you're drawing/painting. So, if you make a mistake with the acrylics, you have to be ready to do some serious re-painting to correct the mistake! (I've messed up a couple, but I've managed to hide the mistakes, thankfully.) You should give painting a try sometime; you might love the results you can get with them.
Oh yeah, if I'm not on theO chat, I'm nowhere. I'm a wandering ghost on the internet with no real home other than this site. One day, I'll enable MSN or Yahoo.
Huh, so they are, in a sense, like watercolors? Excuse my lack of knowledge in this subject, actually, I don't really have any knowledge in paints or painting. Which saddens me greatly. =___=;;
Perhaps maybe we can chat about this sometime, I'd love to pick your brain on this subject. Do you have any instant messenger programs? I have MSN/AIM/Yahoo...

It's getting a little late for me, so I'm good! Go have fun in chat. In fact, this is kind of like really slow chat, complete with lag-time.
Acrylics aren't too hard to work with. I buy mine in small bottles. The paint itself if kind of thick, so you have to dilute them with water. It depends on how much you want to dilute the paint: more water and less paint makes it look more like watercolors; more paint and less water makes the paint look much more "vivid" and full. I tend to work with many layers of diluted acrylics to get the look I want, but, like I said, you have to just go ahead and do some doodles with them!
Huh, you leave chat and I was bound by my word to leave as well; now I've followed you here as well. I'm not a stalker!
Yeah, I tried to capture that look that some of Christian paintings have. They're colored so vividly, but I had a hard time working all of these dark colors. Thankfully, I had nice and bright subject to work with, and there was some light to add some color to the palette.
If you ever want to work with paints, don't be afraid to just doodle at first. It's how I learned: just draw anything and then paint over it. As you go on, you know the techniques and such. Personally, I love the way watercolors and acrylics look. They make clouds look amazing (and I hope my coloring of the clouds looks alright. I'm not sure about them, though).
I can't believe I missed this! Eekers!
I can definitely see the Christian painting influence in this work, the rays of sunlight and the angel's look remind me of a redemption sort of feel. Very good stuff you have here. I should visit you and have you teach me how to paint, I've always wanted to learn.
Celestially Exceptional! @_@ I WISH I could paint this good! What an experience it must be to have one's mental expressions manifested by the calming stroke of a brush and the imaginative identity of color so mute, yet strikingly vibrant. I admire paintings such as this. Especially while listening to Susumu Hirasawa as I browse. I love doing that. Well anyways, another GREAT piece Pleiades. I eagerly anticipate more from you. See you around. =)
Only you can turn a lineart into a pice like this one .The lineart was good but the awesome part comes form the coloring and the detail you gave to the picture.I saw the lineart and I need to drop a little comment but I really liked this one a lot more.
Absolutely remarkable!!!You are realy talented,These remind me of those oil paintings you usualy see at galleries(when you look at them from close up you dont see the details that well but the more you back away the clearer the details become-I'm guesing that is what you where trying to do with the clouds as however your angelic fairie's detail seems much more refined and clearer from close up,onece again a very interesting concept)Keep it up!!!!
Great job with the clouds. Clouds are usually my weakness, so I don't think I could have tackled them the way you did. I could say that it certainly has that same Christian painting feel. I think the clouds really did it.

Get back on chat. I'll get on if you do. I don't want to make you leave.
Are acrylics hard to work with? I haven't a clue how to use them, I've never tried to use them, and it seems to daunting to try them. > >;;
