It's got hte strokes... I'm afraid I can't tell you the names of the brushes but on the big strokes It's advised that you use a bigger brush. most brushes can do these strokes. I've got an example on there for watercolr sponges too. ^~

Yeah, we Seniors can get pretty cranky when we want to (in my case, more often than not). Teach those Otakuites!
As someone who works extensively with paints, I find the background to be pretty good. It reminds me of a cloudy night sky when there is enough light to actually see the dark clouds. I admire those who aren't afraid to mix paints with other mediums. It often achieves a very nice effect to one's creation. Good work.
I really like the background. This piece is differant from all your other ones, I almost didn't recognize it, lol. Either way, it's very nice and congrats on becoming a senior otaku.
