well do you think your pics are better? if you dont respect an other artist's pic, then your pics arent worth seeing. plz respect an artist and dont say any art is not worth seeing.
of course, practice makes perfect, we all know that, and he IS practicing, working, drawing, trying new styles... thats what makes a true artist!
Well It´s actually a friends portrait .We all call her Miyavi even if that´s not her real name.I loved the shading in this pic even thou I´m not a very good artist when it comes to portraits .Im just very happy with it.Yes it´s a simple picture I didn´t add so much detail since I just had an old picture of Tabi to draw it.Maybe it´s not the best but it´s worth showing to people ,specialy if it´s to make someone´s day happy.I think the artistic critique was good but on the rest you were a little harsh.Please remember to be constructive in critisism and make the artist see their mistakes without hurting their feelings.Also try reading all the caption and seeing the comments ,you would known that it was for a friend.Be welcomed to comment again but please be costructive.
this is miyavi? are you serious? okay, I'm sorry, but this is not good at all. everything is too dark. you ned to work on your value scale. and you need to take your time more. everything looks to simple and scrribled, and the shadows are too flat.
keep practicing, but next time make sure it's worth showing people.

I'm sorry for kinda forgetting about answering your question even though you reminded me D:

Q:is true that a cat at the entrance of the shop with a leg up will mean "Irashaimasen" or good fortune?
A: I think you mean the hand/paw up right? xDD leg up reminds me of a dog ^-^; I'm not sure why it's a cat but yes, it's used for good fortune and to attract customers to the store....and also money...
I looked it up right now and it seems like there are different colours and they signify different things x___x
Yeah it´s time for a question :3.Lemme see it is true that a cat at the entrance of the shop with a leg up will mean "Irashaimasen" or good fortune?And why its a cat I mean why not a fortune dog.
Wufff wuffff

Looks really neat! Another one of your fun ideas about commenting! :P
The question what if your name was San, what'd you call you, san-san - it made me laugh xD
Hmm can't think of a question right now, maybe later ^__^
I forgot to add a disclamer thing so yea...the answers are based on my beliefs/experiences and are not 100% accurate ^_~;
Magician Princess
Q:does the girl from the grudge really exist over there?
A:I no watch any horror film....;~; but I don't think she exists...hopefully not? Unless you mean the actress? O_o;

Q:What happens if my name is San and I wnet to Japan.Will they call me San San or something?
A:lol. I think that they'll try to avoid saying your name as much as possible....like maybe calling you by another name or something...or in some cases, they could call you San-Sama....
KitsyLove
Q:Is it hard to emigrate to Japan?
A:It depends I guess...if you know a decent amount of japanese, know what you're gonna do there, and know people who can help you, and some visa stuff...you'll be okay probably...
I'll answer a few questions and leave the rest for tomorrow....(sorry it's been awhile)^^;
mewmewpudding:
Q:How big of a role does anime and manga play in a typical Japanese person's life?
A: Since it's targeted towards people of all ages, I'd say moderate to large? You could walk into someone's house and see that they have a fairly decent collection of stuuf but they wouldn't necessarily be considered 'otaku.'
Q:Are the toilets really short there like I've heard in rumors (my random question)?
A:Depends what you consider short...xDD But I've thought that some toilets were quite short even for me (I'm not very tall)....then there are the old-fashioned urinal-looking ones...
Q:Sticking chopsticks in rice straight up is a sign of death, correct? Or at least used at funerals?
A:Totally, that's how rice is offered to the dead....I think the chinese believe this too? So NEVER EVER do this since it's considered to be really bad.
Q:What's the craziest color of dyed hair you've seen in Japan?
A:I've seen many colours....most people bleach their hair/dye it natural colours but you see funky colours once in awhile...especially when you go to more urban places like Tokyo....You know what's funny? Some old ladies actually dye their hair purple and stuff...I thought that was quite amusing....
Q:Does Japan have a military?
A:Yes...doesn't every country?
Gale Alchemist
Q:From what I've read, in Japan, a couple holding hands isn't seen...right in the public's eyes...
A:I've heard of that too but I personally don't think so....it might have been more that way around the 90's maybe? O_o;
MooNLighTKisseS
Q:do they have Jones Soda in Japan??
A:Probably xDD
i luve2dance
Q:do most japanese ppl kno at least some english?
A:Yes....well they teach some english at school so I think most would understand simple stuff...
oh and Happy Valentine's Day ^^
OMB!! random questions? :p lol!! so... do i have to think about some or post them here? anyways, i like the shading, and well, realism is REALLY hard to do ^-^
Akatsuki Elite Member: Ichati
this is totally awesome! the shading is excellent and wow everything is!
soo ask questions right?? my brain is not doing well this time maybe later 0..o
¤solange¤
Wtf...You drew this??O3O
Omg,so different from your other arts!Me love it!It looks so realistic!X3
Uuuh...Questions about Japan,huh...Is it hard to emigrate to Japan?(I heard it was from someone...Meh,I don't know any other question,lol)
wow....haha. this came as a total surprise to me...I actually do think it somewhat represents me....or at least how I used to look a few years back ^^ I have shorter hair now but I think my facial structure hasn't changed much...I'll try to post a pic if and when I get a memory card so you'll be able to see if there's a difference :P
Which pic did you use for reference BTW? It was so long ago I can't even remember haha. but I probably still have it somewhere..^^;
oh man...so many questions....but I guess I'll answer them since your surprises are fun and I don't really mind xD (punishment for me not going to coffee place?)
edit: it seems that I cannot double comment so I'll wait until someone comments to start answering questions....
Hmmm maybe I should post the picture so you could see the reference.I really like this picture realism is not my hit but still it came good.The easy part would be to draw Miyavi more animistic but I wanted a challenge.
Well about my random question to Miyavi.What happens if my name is San and I wnet to Japan.Will they call me San San or something lol.And what if a Europ saint went there and he was also a saint.Will he be called San San san XD .Better say san*3 :P .
Angel
OK Angel I gotta be real with you...
This isn't good at all compared to your other stuff. You want to know why? First off when it comes to realism the eyes are too dark and look to cartoonish...the hair is way to flat, the lips are out of shape, the nose is way to big for her face, and her hair also is way to triangle-ish at the tips.
The only good thing about it is the shading and that is all I have to say because I truely do not like this piece at all. That will be my constructive critism...
Ay ay ay, I'ma just comment on the picture. Not your best but I love the certain softness of the hair and the way you've done the shading on it. It's the mouth that's the main issue. Try and soften that top line, ok? ^^
genius.
well i read somewhere something about how like couples can't kiss goodbye in an airport..or they can....actually i don't really remember which way it was...errr is it like impolite to?
omgosh i have one!! do they have Jones Soda in Japan?? ^^
...do you all know what Jones soda is....? its the best....aha...
nice idea angel!!! ^.~
sorry my questions are kinda dumb. ahhh well
Questions about... Japan? Uh... *thinks* ... ...
From what I've read, in Japan, a couple holding hands isn't seen... right in the public's eyes... urgh... *flushes*
Guess that's... it... -_-;;
Nice pic, by the way! i like the shading!^^
~Kaze E.
Oooh. FUN. :D
(Nice idea, Angel-kun! I like the picture, too.)
Hmmmm. Questions...
If you ever feel like answering these:
How big of a role does anime and manga play in a typical Japanese person's life?
Are the toilets really short there like I've heard in rumors (my random question)?
Sticking chopsticks in rice straight up is a sign of death, correct? Or at least used at funerals?

Great job with her expression... and the shading is awesome, drawing something with just pencil is hard (for me anyway), and this looks great.
