(FYI)dpi - dot per inch / 300 dpi i guess they need a very detailed picture.
DPI refers to the size of the scan. Most scanners ask you what DPI you want to scan it as, though I've noticed the printer/copier/scanner scanners don't tend to. If your DPI is wrong, I think just resizing it to be bigger would fix the problem. :)
