Feel your pain, people don't seem to understand.
The advice is that you get over it. Unfortunately you do, because the human mind cannot keep focusing on being sad. We're made to make it impossible for us to be constantly sad about the same thing. Even crying releases calming chemicals in the brain. And distractions speed up that process.
I was fairly poorly off, having found someone to really be in love with and a couple of days later having confirmed the possibility that I'm leaving in August not to see her for at least another five years. Sucks, and it meant I didn't value the time I spent with her nearly enough. Imagining that I could only spend a few months with someone I really loved isn't a good thing.
Now I'm fine, though and I value her very much.
Still, this really made me think back on it.
"There is only one truly serious philosophical problem, and that is suicide" Mental or physical it can be pretty bad. I guess you can call some depressed people mentally suicidal.
Ah, sorry for that. I meant to compliment the eCard but it got a lot deeper than I intended ^^
